On t' tube

I've had another little crack at a video and it's up on my fancy Youtube page. There were plenty of failed attempts at many things and a few choice words after faffing with software that wasn't worth a toss in the end, but it's not a bad effort and shows to me at least the potential for this little hobby. Would you believe the footage in this video is from less than an hours fishing after work this week, crazy when so much of my fishing for the last month has been devoid of fish. I've actually managed to catch a few Esox, on lures and had some fun. My next videos will hopefully be something a little more arty farty or have a theme to them, possibly instructional or possibly just none stop explosive takes. Who knows? So here it is in all it's glory. I'll soon have my own slot on SkySports if I keep this up.

  1. Looking good Paul, you could hear the bearings underwater quite clearly in the lure at the begining. Im glad you changed those rubber hooks half way through too lol
look forward to seeing more! Give that half in the water half out thing a go, you kind of did it when you released the pike, the moment you put the camera in the water, looked good.
I like pike videos that are matched to music so the music builds up along with the video, then when the bass line or heavy/loud bit in the music kicks in the video matches with something like a pike jumping or an aggressive take. A bit hard to explain what i mean exactly but think you'l understand what i mean?
God im not even doing it but im getting loads of ideas lol, when you go on the boat with woody you could hang the camea of the side or back so its close to the water, so all you see is the wake and a bit of scenery, then with your software speed it up so it covers allot of interest in a short space of time. That could work at the begining of a vid, like telling a story, that would be the start of the journey/session.
really looking forard to seeing somemore as im always looking on youtube for videos when im bored and allot are chuff or just boring

    1. Yeah I have loads of ideas too. Problem is I have to work most of the day, what's all that about? Other problems are music copyright and editing software, some are a nightmare. If cash wasn't an issue I'd also have a few GoPros then you could get multiple angles of same thing.

  3. Your a natural mate ! great stuff!
I personally prefer vids without the music ,unless you can get Sabbath or Metallica to play behind you on the bank side !
I like to hear the the daft things we say, or the stupid noises we make when we get a fish on or OFF !!
I know lure fishing is the new Rock'n'Roll and all that, but I reckon it would be good for the anglers personality to come through on vids, which is probably why I will never make one!!!!!!! .
Mine would be like one of Bill Dances hahahahaha

    1. Thanks Lee. I'll let you in on a little secret, video editing. The lure shots are from a different day on another venue, my river was like chocolate also and still is. Like your end, every weekend is a wash out.

  6. cheers cocka. I'll get a take on film at some point, I know a few spots where if I set up the camera it's only a matter of time before one hits. Struggling to get anything now though with the muddy water so I'll just have to be patient. As you know, can't even get out it's shocking.
